No fans for the Rumble? No problem! Kinda. Top to bottom, a great wrestling show, and one of, if not THE best PPV of the COVID Era. Bianca and Edge get their moments, golf carts become controversial, and it's......it's Christian. We get into all of the matches from the first WWE PPV of 2021, we discuss some of the shortcomings of WWE in general, and much much more. Subscribe! Follow me! WAR GAMES! We don't actually get to hear William Regal say those iconic words on this event, but we do get him in a powdered wig so...that's something? In addition to that, we have a hilariously exhausting promo/phone call between Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair, we have Terry Funk being a shirtless madman, and Jim Duggan sparks something that will go on to change wrestling forever -- Stone Cold Steve Austin. Joined by James from “That 90's Wrestling Podcast”, you can find his podcast on Youtube and w...

You read the title, and you probably thought "Hmm, I guess this is the show where Kurt Angle won the title, but what else happened?". Admittedly, I had the same thought before watching this show, but there turned out to be a TON of noteworthy stuff that occurred at Unforgiven 2001. Edge and Christian have their first match against each other in their breakup feud, Stephanie McMahon tries to have intercourse with RVD, and the infamous Kronik vs Undertaker and Kane match unfolds. There's good, the...

Have you been itching to do a deep-dive into Trytan? Or "The Outlaw" Billy Gunn? Or the battle to become the secretary of Dusty Rhodes? No? WELL THAT'S WHAT YOU'RE GETTING WITH THIS EPISODE. Destination X 2005 is a classic representation of what TNA did wrong. They had a great amount of talent but didn't always know how to utilize them. However, on this show we do get to see a great Ultimate X (with overly convoluted extra rules), but this episode is mainly a hilarious journey through the pitfal...

Bonus Episode! The year of 2020 was a crazy one for everybody, and the wrestling industry was no different. This year gave us so much to think about and enjoy in the world of wrestling, and we have a great group of guys to discuss it: The Hardest Part of the Ring Kenny from "A Kenny For Your Thoughts" Podcast Matt Ridder from "Smackin' It Raw" Podcast Joey from "The Angle" Podcast This is a longer episode than usual, but it FLIES by. So much fun, you won't want to miss it! Check out Kenny ...

Episode 50 / One Year(ish) Anniversary! The epic extravaganza spectacular is here! My guests for this episode called this the "true start" of PROGRESS, and taking everything that happened on this show, I believe them. Ross and Matt from the "Wrestling Should Be Fun" Podcast join me today; to provide some added context to my PROGRESS watch-through; and to just be cheeky lads. We see the beginning of arguably the great storyline in PROGRESS history with Jimmy Havoc, we see a great title match between Rampage Brown and Doug Williams, and we get to learn about how Brits are marks ...

In this episode, we take a journey back to 1994 to recap Hulk Hogan's WCW debut! Not enough for you? It's Hulk Hogan vs Ric Flair for the WCW World Title! Still not enough? Mr T is there!....for some reason. In addition to this monumental dream match, there are also some sleeper classics on the show; including Steve Austin vs Ricky Steamboat and Dustin Rhodes getting turned on by Arn Anderson (shocker). And who better to review this landmark episode in the history of WCW than past guest, Burying...

A landmark show for the company of Ring of Honor, and a landmark episode of The Apron Bump! As always, watching 2002 ROH is quite the experience; we get to take a journey through some of ROH's growing pains, while also getting to experience some of the best wrestling the world had to offer at that point. Whatever your opinion, the crowning of the first ROH Champion was a monumental moment in wrestling. And no one better to bring on this journey than Justin and Sreten from the "Juice Pro Wrestlin...

The "Invasion" is firmly underway, and we're starting to see some of ridiculousness that this storyline brought to the audience. It's becoming progressively more clear that we're not getting Goldberg, or Hogan, or Flair, or anyone that really embodies what WCW was about. But instead, we get a 5 Star match between Stone Cold Steve Austin and Kurt Angle, we get a phenomenal ladder match between Jeff Hardy and RVD, and Meat is also there. For some reason. Oh, and we get to see the result of DDP all...

Do you want Jeff Jarrett? Do you want a car-crash ladder match with Abyss and Jeff Hardy? Do you want to see a NASCAR commentator wrestle? Well THIS IS THE EPISODE FOR YOU. As per usual, TNA delivers with some great matches, hilariously bad matches, and just an overall entertaining show (sometimes not entertaining for the "right" reasons). Charlie from "GetCho" Podcast joins me once again and we get really silly in this one, but we'll blame that on TNA. This is a barn-burner, folks! Check out C...

Hopping across the pond once again for some UK wrasslin'! PROGRESS never fails to deliver great shows, and Chapters 7-8 are no exception. Two PROGRESS Title matches, a brutal hardcore match with Jimmy Havoc, and legendary appearances by Nigel McGuinness and Doug Williams! Great matches across the board; and you can really see that this company is starting to figure things out here in terms of storylines and production value. Lots of shenanigans to get into here! Follow me! ApronBump.com @Apro...

This episode is so hot, it’s scary!!! The year of 1994 is widely perceived as a down year for wrestling; and by many metrics, it is. However, the Summer of 94 sees so many impactful seeds being planted: Hogan debuting in WCW, Shane Douglas dropping the NWA Title and igniting ECW, and Jeff Jarrett vs Mabel here at Summerslam. This show is mainly known for Bret vs Owen in the cage, and for Undertaker vs Undertaker. However, there are so many other interesting and funny elements of the show that di...

Sixteen men. One title. Jerry Lynn. One banana. All of these plots get resolved on this show, and boy howdy is it a fun one! JD from the RedLeaf Retrocast joins me in getting to check out one of the first AJ Styles vs Christopher Daniels matches, we get some building of the tag division, and we see a Prince get knocked out by Low Ki. Lots of shenanigans ensue during this show but one thing is for sure, there is tons of great wrestling. A very interesting glimpse into the future of the business...

Best Hell in a Cell PPV of all time. So much to dig into. Three Cell matches, but each with their own identity; and that's what made this show such a success. We of course go over all the matches but I expand into topics I haven't audio-ly discussed yet such as Retribution, the Samoan Dynasty storyline, and why duct tape gives me anxiety. Follow me! What a wacky one this episode is! A few road bumps in this one but it all fits into the theme of the Invasion and what a fumbling that was for WWF. Although, was it really bad? Or just bad timing? Did WWF actually carry this storyline out how they should have? We get into that in this episode, as well as enjoy us some Hugh Morris, Meat, and Billy Kidman's horrendous Shooting Star Press. Oh, and that Steve Austin guy and all his shenanigans. Was glad to have Joey from "The Angle Podcast" on this...

WCW in 1994, what a spectacle. And not in a good way. But definitely in a car-crash entertaining way. We got Sting vs Vader for the International World Title that Rick Rude had to vacate due to injury, another insane street fight involving Cactus Jack and The Nasty Boys, and....The WCW Television Champion Lord Steven Regal vs Larry Zbyszko....in a non-title match.....on a PPV....for some reason. But we won't let that ruin our day. JD from "RedLeaf RetroCast" joins me for this episode and thank ...

There may not be anything more fun than watching peak TNA; and that's what we got for ya today! We'll (attempt to) ignore the nonsense with Johnny Fairplay and focus on some of the gold we're given on this show: A classic match between AMW and Team Canada, Monty Brown in the main event, and one of the greatest matches of all time in Ultimate X where we see AJ Styles, Petey Williams, and Chris Sabin create magic. Yeah, sure, Kid Kash is on this show too, but we won't let that ruin this. Nathan f...

Art Donovan. Do you need any more reason to listen to this episode or watch this show? Well, you shouldn't; but King of the Ring 1994 also is the official beginning of the New Generation Era, contains the best 5 minute match you'll ever see between Owen Hart and 123 Kid, and has too much IRS. The perfect recipe! And even better, James from "That 90's Wrestling Podcast" joins me to go through all this tomfoolery! We have a fun time stepping in the ol' time machine for this one; lots of hilarity a...

Time for a couple of Asians to talk reminisce about Ring of Honor! Charlie from GetCho Podcast joins The Hardest Part of the Ring for this episode and we have way too much fun talking about ROH's third ever show! This promotion is still figuring things out at this point but we're working our way towards the golden years. We finally get some insight into the first World Title match, we experience a great match between AJ Styles and Low Ki, and we see women get Burning Hammered. It's a wacky journ...

You don't know how strong glass can be until you watch King of the Ring 2001. Concussions, broken necks, broken backs, broken tailbones, and broken hands aside.....this was an amazing show. And yes, all of those injuries ACTUALLY occurred on this one show. But more painful than that; this show kicks of the NOTORIOUS Invasion angle for WWF, and we get a glimpse of what could have been. Kenny from "A Kenny For Your Thoughts" Podcast joins me to discuss all things King of the Ring 2001. Everything...

A very noteworthy show in the history of AEW…good and bad. We got to see great tag team wrestling, a horrific table spot, and that no one in AEW knows what mimosas look like. Great wrestling, but unfortunately hindered by the lack of energy from the select crowd members. Lots to dissect; about this show specifically and AEW as a whole; and who better to get into that than Buryingsmarks?! We get into a lot of nonsense this episode, strap in, folks. @Buryingsmarks_ on Instagram “Burying The Smar...

Time to....PROGRESS in these chapters! (How many times can I make that joke?). This edition of PROGRESS covers Chapters 5 and 6; two chapters filled with violence, absurdity, and some good-natured tag team wrestling. Oh, and Ricochet challenges for the PROGRESS Wrestling Championship! That's just one example of the unpredictability we see in these chapters, let's get into it. ApronBump.com @Apron_Bump on Instagram @ApronBump on Twitter “Apron Bump” on Facebook and Youtube

With special guest, Buryingsmarks! Woooo baby we got a loaded one for you today. Huge weekend in wrestling, lots to cover. Buryingsmarks and myself review Takeover and Summerslam in their entirety; as well as touch on some other wrestling-related topics like his trip to the PC, how both of us reacted like little boys when Roman returned, and why strippers are crucial to the success of Monday Night Raw. This is a fun one boys and girls. Don't forget to subscribe, rate, and review! Would greatly ...
